"Your Move" (Print on Cotton Paper) 24"H x 20"W
Life is full of choices, so make "Your Move". The idea that life is just a game is represented by the chess board in the foreground. The left side shows the eternal struggle between man and nature, but there is respect on both sides, and both sides are fighting for their way of life, an honorable thing to fight for. The right side with the 2 dead kings who shot each other, represents that both sides lost in that game because they desired too much for themselves in their pursuit for power. The hour glass which is almost out of time represents that the choices that lead to the right side of the picture have come with dire consequences fast approaching in the shape of the atomic bomb blast. The left side is my version of an Eden. There is still danger shown in the tiger and the black widow spider, but these are to be accepted for the integral parts they place, and respected for the beauty they have. The 'ouroboros' (the snake eating its own tail along the border) is a symbol for infinity/eternity/ever lasting in that it is constantly eating it's own tail and regenerating. It's a symbol for how life will continue to be reborn from it's own ashes. I hope you enjoy and I hope it sparks some conversation with others as well as within yourself. Please write me if you have comments or questions.
Printed paper size is 24”H x 20”W. Actual art printing is slightly smaller to allow room for framing and about 1” white space on the left and right side.
Original is pastel drawing on paper.
